Samsung HT-F9750W 7.1 home cinema system packs 1,330w of power - CES 2013

Samsung has pulled back the curtain on its HT-F9750W home cinema system ready for tomorrow's CES 2013 unveiling. As the top-end 7.1 system for 2013, the HT-F9750W combines vacuum tube amplification with a massive 1,330W of power.

As an all-in-one system, the HT-F9750W includes a Blu-ray player with Samsung's AllShare Play system for wireless multimedia streaming from a home PC or networked NAS box, along with a 4K Scaler Processor - Samsung claims it can generate "true-to-life" pictures that upscale from 1080p to UHD-level image quality.

It will also include Samsung's trademark Smart Hub connected TV system, although we have yet to learn whether it is the same version that will be appearing on the company's 2013 TV line-up, or the existing 2012 edition.

Designed to match the silver finish of Samsung's current TV line-up, the HT-F9750W uses a new TV Sounnd On feature to power on the system and mute the internal TV speaker with one button on the remote control.

If you take a closer look at Samsung's reveal image, you'll notice only five speakers - that's because Samsung has re-used its 7.1 swiveling speaker concept from the HT-D6750W we looked at last year. We didn't think the audio separation was on par with a dedicated 7.1 system, but the new Samsung-exclusive DTS Neo Fusion audio codec could make all the difference in the HT-F9750W.

We'll reserve our judgement until we hear the system on the CES show floor next week, where we also hope to hear more about pricing and availability in the UK.
